A PALMERSTOWN café celebrated two years in business with a little celebration to thank its staff and customers.

Joanne Monks, who lives in Palmerstown, has created a space on Manor Road that caters for everyone in the community to enjoy.

Employing eight people, a mix of full and part time, Jojo’s café provides a range of popular treats on its menu for customers including full Irish breakfasts, pancakes, toasted sandwiches, ice cream, cakes and fair trade coffee.

Jojo’s staff member Eve Carey said they were “really proud that our coffee shop is celebrating two years in business on March 31.”

“Our wonderful owner Joanne Monks has worked so hard to accomplish this,” said Eve.

“Over the last two years, Joanne has built a space that caters for everyone in our community, young and old to go (with their pets!) to have a moment to themselves or catch up with friends and family.

“Joanne has hosted and catered for birthdays, with ages ranging from 1 to 100.

“She has opened at the crack of dawn to support Pieta House for Darkness into Light and has run countless fundraisers to raise money for charities near and dear to the people of Palmerstown’s hearts.

“From inviting the fire brigade round to celebrating Halloween with kids or hosting local bands to play live music on St Patrick’s Day, Joanne’s motivation and optimism has never failed.

“For some of our customers, their social life is very much ingrained in JoJo’s, people in Palmerstown who might not get out of the house and into the community were it not for the welcoming atmosphere Joanne has created.

“I have been working in JoJo’s since we opened and have witnessed first-hand how Joanne has built a family of loyal customers from all walks of life, with whom she can always spare time for a quick chat or a needed check in.”

Joanne thanked staff and customers for the “kind” support.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today only for them.

“And of course our amazing customers who also make Jojo’s what it is, thanks for the laughs!!”
