Tallaght Wetlands

FROGS have already spawned and the Tallaght wetlands site they once called home, before tonnes of silt was dumped atop of it in 2019, may be on track to “bounce back” quicker than expected.

Local conservationist Collie Ennis has been keeping a close eye on the site which he once called “a little gem” and this week, has discovered that the common frog population has returned in force.

14-year-old Abi Ward, who attends Firhouse Community College, embarked on a fundraiser to raise funds for charity and received a signed jersey from her favourite Liverpool player as a token of his appreciation for her hard work.

Bus with no passengers or driver ends up in bush in Square Shopping Centre

Nobody was injured this evening when a bus, with no passengers or driver on board, left the terminus at The Square and ended up in a bush on the outskirts of the shopping centre car park.

Young Isaac from Kilnamanagh was presented with a Garda hat from the Community Policing Unit in Tallaght Garda Station on Thursday.

Isaac who is Garda mad received a Garda bike from Santa last month and was out on patrol with his new colleagues in Kilnamanagh on Thursday.

Ducks spotted skating in Tymon Park

Ducks in Tymon Park were spotted skating into the New Year earlier today, after a drop in temperatures caused the park’s lakes to freeze over.

Exchange Hall fire

Residents have been evacuated from Exchange Hall apartment block in Tallaght as Dublin Fire Brigade dealt with an under ground car fire.

Dublin Fire Brigade units from Tallaght and Dolphins Barn attended the fire. No reports of any injuries.

Christmas Trees at Tallaght University Hospital

Despite the challenges faced in 2020, the various teams across Tallaght University Hospital have continued with their annual traditional of designing creative Christmas trees for each ward.
