Change Clothes Crumlin launches the Swap Tool Kit
SUSTAINABLE initiative Change Clothes Crumlin has launched the ‘Swap Kit’, a suite of swap equipment that can be borrowed to host a swap shop event in your community.
The initiative is supported by Dublin City Council. The Swap Tool Kit is available free of charge to community groups in the Dublin City Council area.
Mary Fleming, who started Change Clothes Crumlin in Summer 2022, told The Echo that it is a simple service that forms part of their efforts to support sustainable fashion.
“DCC are kindly supporting us to offer a straight up borrowing service,” said Mary, CEO at Change Clothes Crumlin.
“Organising swap shops is not only an eco-friendly way to refresh your wardrobe but also a fantastic way to fundraise for worthy causes.”
The kit, available at
www.changeclothes.org/borrow, includes everything you need to ensure the smooth running of your event, such as four clothing rails, one big mirror, 100 hangers, 100 swap tokens, a table top chalk board sign and one A4 perspex sign holder.
“We are excited to introduce the Swap Tool Kit as part of our ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable fashion,” said Mary.
“By using simple technology and providing essential resources, we aim to make clothing swaps more accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for everyone. Together, we can redefine the future of fashion and create a more sustainable world.”
Change Clothes Crumlin is a community based clothing reuse hub and a registered not for profit CLG.
Their work aims to ensure that local clothing waste doesn’t become a global problem and make second hand materials community focused, fun, affordable, and social.
