The show will contain dancing, music and colourful costumes.

Chairperson of the Inchicore Variety Group, Kay O’Keefe, told The Echo: “It’s a funny pantomime. There will be plenty of music and dancing, and there will be some lovely costumes too.

“We chose to perform Cinderella because it’s very popular with children – every child knows Cinderella.

“We’ve a very good cast, and everyone gets on very well.

“The kids love it.”

Kay added: “We also have a few new people who have joined the group who will be in the panto as well, and we’re delighted to have them.”

The entire cast are performing on a voluntary basis, giving a real community feel to proceedings where the true gain for the performers comes from making the audience laugh.

Explaining how the cast feel in the run up to the performance, Kay said: “They do get a little bit nervous, but they’re excited too.”

The group will be performing Cinderella for four nights at 8pm over the midterm break; February 14, 15, 16 and 17, with their show run coming to a close when they perform a matinee show on Sunday, February 18 at 3pm.

Tickets for the performance are €12 for adults, €10 for students and senior citizens, and €7 for children. You can purchase tickets in the House of Retreat on Tyrconnell Road in Inchicore, or you can contact Kay on 086 862 7739.
