Community invited to celebrate Rhasidat Adeleke’s double gold medal win
TO CELEBRATE the recent success of Rhasidat Adeleke at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, Tallaght Athletic Club is hosting a homecoming party for the double gold medallist.
Taking place this Tuesday at the Tallaght Athletic track on the Greenhills Road, the club has invited local residents be part of the celebrations, and to come out in acknowledgement of Rhasidat's achievement.

The 16-year-old, who is a member of Tallaght AC, received a massive reception in Dublin Airport on her return home with the Ireland Youth Olympics squad, after she stormed to victory in both 100m and 200m events in Azerbaijan.
Adeleke was named 2017 Emerging Athlete of the Year at The Echo Sports Awards.
A year later, she scooped The Echo 2018 Sports Star of the Year title after running to Gold over 200m in the European Under-18 Championships and playing her part in the Ireland Women’s 4x100m Relay team’s silver medal win at the World Under-20 Championships in Finland.
Rhasidat will be in attendance with her two gold medals when the community celebration kicks off at 7pm on Tuesday, August 6.
Tallaght AC hopes people will join them in “celebrating and acknowledging the fantastic achievements” of the local athlete.
