Corpus Christi procession first in parish partnership

A CORPUS Christi procession will take place in St Mary’s Priory in Tallaght village on Sunday, June 9, at 2.30pm.

It is the first gathering of the new parish partnership of St Dominic’s, St Aengus’s, St Mary’s Priory, St Kevin’s and St Killian’s – all are welcome to attend.

It will begin in the Priory at 2.30pm and progress around the Friar’s Walk, where it will end with Benediction – refreshments will be served afterwards.

Sinead Fallon, a parish pastoral worker in St Dominic’s Church, told The Echo: “[It will be] the first event hosted by the parish partnership of St Mary’s Priory, St Dominic’s, St Aengus’s, St Kevin’s and St Killian’s in our new partnership.

“We are partnered to work together in the recent changes in the Dublin Archdiocese and the Building Hope process.

“It is a response to the reduced numbers of priests in parishes and the encouragement of

co-responsibility of the laity within our parishes.

“We hope that this event will foster relationships that have been established through working together and for the young people whom we hope will attend will get a sense that they are part of a wider church community.”
