DID celebrates 50 years with rewards for its customers

By Maurice Garvey

FIFTY years ago, DID Electrical was started when Gerry Houlihan and his van began working on trying to make people’s lives easier.

Soon after, Gerry opened his first store in Mountjoy Square in 1968 and since then, DID Electrical has gone from strength to strength.

The Irish-owned business now employs over 250 people and has 23 stores located nationwide, including Tallaght, Lucan, Crumlin, and a warehouse in Fonthill.

This year, as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary, DID is hosting a series of exclusive in-store roadshow events with giveaways and rewards for customers in each of their 23 stores nationwide.

All roadshow invitees will receive a DID voucher worth €19.68, 10 per cent off everything, special offers, the latest product demonstrations, spot prizes, children’s face-painting and lots more.

At the Blanchardstown roadshow last weekend, customers enjoyed this full range of special offers.

The 50th roadshow events will be staged at DID’s Tallaght, Lucan and Crumlin stores towards the end of October (25-28).

To sign up for the roadshow events, visit DID.ie or contact your local DID store to secure an invitation.

Darren Hardiman, Head of Operations, Marketing & E-Commerce DID Electrical said: “We’re incredibly proud of our roots as an Irish family business, one that has grown to become a family of over 250 people working across the country every day of the week to find the perfect technology and home appliance solutions for our fantastic customers. It has always been our commitment to be there in the moments that matter for our customers, and we’re incredibly grateful for the loyalty they have shown us in return.

“As Ireland has changed and grown in the past half century, DID has too – and we remain committed to always delivering the best value, service and experience for our customers. We have been lucky enough to be a part of our customers’ lives, often for generations of the same families, and we are looking forward to being part of the next 50.”
