Drug rehabilitation centre agrees lease agreement at Muriel Boothman Centre
A NEW lease agreement was agreed for a drug rehabilitation centre in Clondalkin.
CASP (Clondalkin Addiction Support Programme) Company Limited has been in occupation of the Muriel Boothman Centre, Ballyowen House, Fonthill Road, since 1994.
The group is facilitated and funded by the HSE, however Dublin City Council said no occupancy agreement has been completed with the group to date.
At the recent Dublin South Central area meeting, it was proposed to grant a lease of this site to Clondalkin Addiction Support Programme Company Limited by guarantee subject to terms and conditions which the Chief Valuer considers to be fair and reasonable.
Terms include a lease for a term of twenty years commencing on the execution of the legal documents.
Commercial rent for the first five years of the term shall be €60,000. No VAT is applicable.
The tenant shall pay an abated rent of €200 per annum, no VAT applicable, for the first five years of the term.
The commercial rent and the abated rent shall be subject to review at the end of year five.
Under the Planning and Property matters at the area meeting, the lease was recommended and agreed by elected members.
CASP was established in 1995 by community members and workers, in response to increasing numbers of young heroin users in the Clondalkin area.
It is a community service that supports people over the age of 18, and has carried out sterling work over the years.
CASP also supports family members living with addiction in the home, and they also provide holistic approaches as part of their support to clients to help them break free of addiction and live healthy lives.
