€1.82m budget for footpath repairs and road resurfacing

A BUDGET of €1.82m has been set aside for the Tallaght area in South Dublin County Council’s Roadworks Programme 2023.

The highest rate, totalling €775k, will be used for footpath repairs in areas including Treepark Road, Avenue and Close (€50k), Kilclare Avenue, Drumcairn Estate and Bawnlea Estate (€45k each).

Other areas earmarked for footpath repairs this year include Tamarisk Close, Avenue and Heights (€45k) in Kilnamanagh, Brookview Estate, Fortunestown Road and Homelawns Estate (€40k each).

A total of €645k will be used for road resurfacing works in Tallaght during the course of the year, in areas such as Cookstown Industrial Estate Road and Second Avenue (€75k).

Other locations include Fortunestown Way (€50k), Fortunestown Lane and Crescent, Sylvan Drive and Ballymount Road (€45k each), Seskin View Road – Homelawn Road to The View, Millbrook Lawns (€40k).

Road resurfacing works will also take place in Drumcairn Avenue (Gardens to Drumcairn Park) and Drumcairn Drive (€53k), Rossfield Gardens, Bawnlea Green and Dromcarra Avenue (€30k each).

Routine maintenance works, such as hedge cutting, line marking and drainage works, will take place with a budget of €250k.

Social housing estate pavement upgrades, totalling €150k, will take place in Tymon North Court (€55k), Skeffington Meadows (€50k) and St Dominic’s Court and Avenue (€45k).
