Fettercairn Whiskey on sale at Doha Airport

DOES an area in Tallaght have its own brand of Whiskey?

This bottle of Fettercairn Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey was spotted in Doha Airport by an eagle-eyed Echo reader last week.

Despite sharing the same name with Fettercairn in Tallaght, a little more digging revealed that the whiskey actually comes from the traditional Fettercairn Whiskey distillery in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland.

The two places share some similarities as the distillery lies at the base of the Grampian Mountains, where it gets its name ‘Fettercairn’ from, which is based on the term ‘foot of the mountains’ and Fettercairn in Tallaght lies close to the Dublin Mountains.
