Former Peamount player Niamh signs for Parma
FORMER Peamount United player Niamh Farrelly has signed for Italian club Parma ahead of the new Series A Femminile season, reports William O’Connor.
The 23-year-old Ireland international has been playing with Glasgow City for the past two seasons after helping the Newcastle club to a league and cup double.
From Lucan, Farrelly has played underage level with her country and broke into the senior squad in 2019.
Farrelly however made her senior debut as a second-half substitute in a pre-season friendly against Sassuolo at the weekend.
“Factor 50 every day, let’s go,” Farrelly said on social media. “Playing football in Serie A has always been my dream,”.
Farrelly will have a key role for Ireland in the sell-out game FIFA World Cup qualifier against Finland on September 1 in Tallaght Stadium.
