Fun Day for Cappaghmore with music and barbecues
A local estate held a Fun Day recently.
The event was held in Cappaghmore Estate, Clondalkin and ran from 2pm until approximately 10.30pm.
Gavin Doyle is a member of the Residents’ Association and was one of the organisers of the Fun Day.
“We organised bouncy castles and games of football for the kids, barbecues, face painting – local musicians that play around Áras Chrónáin also came,” said Gavin.
The Fun Day is an annual event.
“We have it every year, it’s an end of summer celebration, it brings everyone out. About 150 attended,” said Gavin.
The Residents’ Association send a flyer out to the residents in advance of the Fun Day.
“People fill it in and say how many will be attending, we look for €20 per household to cover the cost of the day,” added Gavin.
The Residents’ Association would also like to thank the musicians who “gave up their time for us”, according to Gavin.
Last year the estate celebrated its 50th anniversary.
“With Covid and the way the estate was built, it was started in 1969, so it ran into last year, so last year we had our 50th anniversary celebration,” said Gavin.
