Google lodge appeal after local authority refuse data centre

GOOGLE Ireland Ltd (GIL) have appealed to An Bord Pleanála over a refusal of their planning application for a new data centre in Grange Castle Business Park.

South Dublin County Council refused planning permission for the development in August, citing reasons which include “insufficient capacity in the electricity network, and the “lack of significant on site renewable energy” to power the proposed development.
