By Hayden Moore

WANT to splash your area with colour? Well, Dublin Canvas are looking for artists and community groups to take part in their ongoing project this summer – with the deadline for submissions on May 13.

A further 58 traffic light control boxes have been assigned as a blank canvas for any local looking to display their artistic talent in prime public locations around the county.

The 36 boxes completed last year managed to capture the imagination of the community and showcase some of the local talent.

A box will be awarded to applicants based on the quality and creativity of their submitted design, with those successful being notified between May 14 and 27.

On the Dublin Canvas website, those interested will find a submission checklist of details that must be included in the application – including a design template.

Successful submissions will be supplied with all materials in a portable pack and €150 to cover general costs or given a payment of €200 to supply their own materials.
