Heating Scheme is blueprint for how communities come together
A SENIOR officer in Amazon has described the Tallaght District Heating Scheme (TDHS) as a blueprint for how industry and communities can come together.
Chief Technology Officer with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dr Werner Vogels said the collaboration between AWS and Heat Works, which runs the network, is supplying Tallaght with “enough [energy] to heat roughly 43,000 m2 of public buildings, including the local university, library, and innovation centre, and has reduced carbon emissions in the area by nearly 1,500 metric tons per year”.
