McGregor appoints financier as director of his company

FINANCIER John Paul Keane has been installed as director of McGregor Sports and Entertainment as the former UFC fighter’s business continues to grow.

Mr Keane is also the new director of three of Conor McGregor’s Forged Stout firms.

Company filings show Mr Keane was appointed a director of McGregor Sports and Entertainment at the end of February.

Filings with the Companies Registration Office also show McGregor’s fiancée Ms Devlin resigned as company secretary on the same day.

Mr Keane is currently the co-head of wealth management at Quintet Private Bank, and has previously worked as an executive in wealth management at firms including HSBC and Wychwood Capital Partners.

McGregor sold most of his stake from his Proper No Twelve whiskey in 2021 to Proximo Sports for €549m.

Last year, Mr McGregor agreed to buy the Porterhouse Brewery in Dublin, which brews his stout.

The construction arm of his business portfolio is building a nine-storey, 188 apartment complex overlooking the Grand Canal.

He is also planning to build 72 apartments at a site that includes the former Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh after an earlier proposal for 113 apartments was rejected by city planners.

McGregor reportedly bought the Marble Arch for €1.5m to €2m, three years ago, and has a number of pubs to his name, including the Black Forge Inn Pub, which is also in Drimnagh.
