Active South Dublin Sports Awards 2026.

All monthly sports stars are in the running for Sports Star of the Year award.

The Active South Dublin Sports Awards are run in association with The Echo and with support from SDCC and the Plaza Hotel.

January Sports Team

Dublin Lions U18s

THE Dublin Lions U18 side have been awarded team of the month for January following a massive win in the U18 Billy Coffey National Cup for the first time. The side defeated St Brendan’s BC from Tralee in the final of the competition and overcame Oblates BC from Inchicore in an extremely tough semi final also.

February Sports Team

Holy Family Community School, Rathcoole

HOLY Family Community School Rathcoole girls football team have been named Active South Dublin’s Team of the Month for February. The side would win the FAI Schools Senior Girls National Cup final after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Ursuline’s College from Sligo.
