Active South Dublin Sports Awards 2026.

All monthly sports stars are in the running for Sports Star of the Year award.

The Active South Dublin Sports Awards are run in association with The Echo and with support from SDCC and the Plaza Hotel.

January Sports Star

Cora McNaughton

OLD Bawn native Cora McNaughton has been named Active South Dublin’s Sports Star of the month for January following two impressive top 10 finishes at the World Youth Sailing Championships in 2025. The competition took place in December and sees the top echelon of young sailors from across the world compete, these can be world champions, continental and national level champions.

February Sports Star

Jayden Wall

JAYDEN Wall has been named Active South Dublin’s Sport Star of the Month for February. Wall won the Dublin Championships after achieving a first round stoppage and a 5-0 unanimous decision in his two bouts. This then qualified him for the All Ireland’s which took place just last week. Again Wall achieved 5-0 victories in the quarter and semi final stages before managing another 5-0 win against European Champion Kieran McDonagh of Olympic BC Galway.
