
IFTA success for some of Tallaght’s brightest young stars
It’s been a night of celebration for Tallaght natives at the Irish Film and Television Academy awards as Seana Kerslake, Emmet Kirwan and Jordanne Jones were recognised for their work.
A Date For Mad Mary, featuring Kerslake in the lead role, scooped Best Film at the IFTAs which took place at Dublin’s Mansion House.

Meanwhile, Heartbreak written by Kirwan and directed by Dave Tynan, and featuring another Tallaght actor, Jordanne Jones was named Best Short Film.

Other notable winners on the night included Ruth Negga who took home the Best Lead Actress accolade for her role in Loving, while Amy Huberman won Best Leading Actress in a Drama.
Cillian Murphy was awarded the Best Leading Actor in a Drama for his part in Peaky Blnders, while Colm Meaney was named Best Actor for his portrayal of Martin McGuinness in The Journey.
