WHEN Ciaran Byrne managed to break out of a 20-year cycle of heroin addiction, he built a life that was unrecognisable to the one that he lived when he was actively using.
The 46-year-old Tallaght native is on the cusp of graduating from TUDublin Tallaght and last week won Social Care Ireland’s Student of the Year 2023, beating off stiff competition from students in other colleges around the country.
