SPORTS fans of a certain vintage, may well remember the heyday of Irish Basketball in the 1980s. The sport was huge all over the country during those days, reports Ken Doyle.
Aided by TV coverage from RTE, every Friday night, we marvelled at the skills and dunks of great players such as Pete and Terry Strickland from Neptune in Cork, Liam McHale of Ballina, and many others, far too numerous to mention.
