Local Faces: John Mullen

THE name of Springfield native John Mullen may not be that familiar to the vast majority of people in Tallaght, but John has personally received official missives from the likes of Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, Gerry Adams, several Taoiseach’s and many more prominent Irish figures.

Born in 1952 as one of seven brothers and reared in St Maelruan’s Park, John, better known as Jackie, is one of the country’s foremost Philatelists (stamp collectors), and Postal Historians and his extraordinary collection of stamps and postal memorabilia has led him to encounters with many important people in Ireland’s recent history.
