Man arrested after robbery with syringe at Tallaght petrol station

Gardaí have charged a man (34) in connection with a robbery that occurred at a service station in Cookstown, Tallaght last night, Sunday 10th April 2016 shortly before 8.30pm.

He is due to appear before Tallaght District Court this morning Monday 11th April 2016 at 10.30am.

A lone man entered the service station on Old Belgard Road last night in possession of a syringe. He threatened staff and fled the scene on foot with a small amount of cash.

The man was arrested close to the scene a short time later and was detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí recovered an amount of cash. The scene was preserved for technical examination.
