
Man arrested over fatal shooting in Clondalkin in 2022
UPDATE 18 September 2024: The man (aged in his 30’s) arrested on Monday 16th September 2024, as part of this investigation, has since been released without charge.
Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the DPP (Director of Public Prosecutions).
Gardaí have arrested a man as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting of Cormac Berkeley that occurred in Clondalkin on Monday, December 5, 2022.
The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested this morning, Monday, September 16, and is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at a Garda station in Dublin.
Shortly before 10pm on December 5, 2022, Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted after a man in his 30s was shot and seriously injured as he sat in a car outside a house at Harelawn Park in Clondalkin.
The injured man, Cormac Berkeley, who is originally from Tallaght, was treated at the scene by Gardaí and Emergency Services personnel but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A statement released by gardai today said: “Gardaí have arrested a man as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on Monday, 5th December 2022.
“The man (aged in his 30s) was arrested this morning, Monday 16th September 2024, and is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at a Garda station in Dublin”.
Gardaí continue to appeal to any person who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.
