A number of housing projects to be completed in mid-2022

A NUMBER of council housing projects across South Dublin County are being progressed and are set to be completed in early to mid-2022.

An update on all current council housing projects was delivered by the council following a question from Councillor Charlie O’Connor at a recent meeting.

The council stated that many of the approved housing developments were completely closed for “significant periods” during Covid-19 related restrictions and has impacted projected completion dates for the schemes.

Despite this, new completion dates have been noted for the projects with many to be delivered in the second quarter of 2022.

The €5.1m 16-unit residential development in Firhouse called Watercourse Grove, is earmarked for completion in the second quarter of next year and comprises of nine two-bed and seven three-bed houses.

Several other projects have been progressed, including the Clúid housing development of 81 homes for older persons at Whitestown Way in Tallaght, which has a projected delivery at the beginning of 2023.

The Part 8 for the development on the Old Lucan Road in Palmerstown of four one-bedroom apartments in a two-storey structure for older persons was approved in September 2020, and work is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022 and to be completed at the end of the year.
