Snow Day and Met Eireann Status Red weather warning

A Status Red snow-ice weather warning was issued earlier today (Wednesday), 5am, by Met Eireann.
Met Eireann said that heavy overnight snowfall on Tuesday led to an accumulation of snow between 5cm and 10cm, which resulted in many excited households across local communities this morning.

Snow showers will continue to occur during the day and there will be further snow accumulations tonight, with snowfall maybe reaching 25cm by tomorrow afternoon, according to Met Eireann.
It has estimated that total snowfall may reach 25 cm by midday tomorrow (Thursday).
Snow showers will continue today, most frequent over the east of the country & on south coasts with further accumulations. Further west snow showers will be more isolated.
