‘My Tribute’ Celebrity Match – Price brothers take part in Calum Best charity game

Before The X Factor and aside from releasing their hit mini-album dreamer into the top ten of the Official Irish Charts, both Sean and Conor Price were handy on the football pitch too and are putting the boots back on in aid of charity.
The Blessington lads have been invited by Calum Best to take part in the ‘My Tribute’ game and will take to the field as part of his squad in the celebrity football match in Tallaght Stadium on August 31.

Calum, the son of footballing legend George Best, has put on the game in honour of his late father and will donate funds raised to Tallaght Drug and Alcohol Task Force and UK-based charity, the National Association of Alcoholics.
Ahead of the game next week, the duo caught up with The Echo to explain how it came about and tell us about their footballing careers to date.
“When Calum reached out to us and explained this was a charity football game and some of the funds raised would go to Tallaght Drug and Alcohol Task Force we knew we wanted to be involved,” they explained.
“Also, Conor is only 17, and I am sure he will be the youngest player involved in the game. That’s pretty cool.
“Sean has played League of Ireland football with Cabinteely U17s and U19s – he signed for the senior team just as his music career started to take off.
“Conor has played DDSL Premier with Lourdes Celtic, Peamount United and Knocklyon United. We love football and always try to have a small kick around with the band before each gig. We carry a football around everywhere.”

Both of the lads have been putting in the work on the training pitch with Crumlin-based Leinster Senior League outfit Bangor Celtic ahead of the game that will see a Calum Best XI face a Brian McFadden XI.
The Price brothers will be part of Best’s side, with the likes of Tony Bellew and Carl Frampton also taking part in the encounter, and they let us know what crowds should expect.
“I would say they can expect a quality football match,” they exclaimed.
“Everyone on our team involved is fit and has played football. The F2 Freestylers are also great players and we can’t wait to play with them.
“Calum Best has to be decent also. His dad was Georgie Best after all.”
