ALL of the 39 houses in the Temple Woods housing development on the Greenhills Road, adjacent to the Cuckoo’s Nest pub, have been snapped up by potential buyers as it was confirmed this week that all of the houses are currently sale agreed.

The houses, which are a mixture of semi-detached and terraced houses, came with a starting price of €355,000 for the terraced houses, €370,000 for the end-of-terrace houses and €390,000 for the semi-detached houses.

According to Darran MacNeaney, the site’s project manager, it’s expected that people will begin moving into the three-bedroom houses within the next three months.

Planning permission was granted for the residential development last year, which included plans for six two-bed apartments to be located in a three-storey structure, with the apartments, which have not yet been developed, being ringfenced for social housing.

This follows the news of other activity on the site, including the planned demolition of the Cuckoo’s Nest to make way for the construction of a smaller gastropub in its place, and the construction of a new Tallaght Theatre building in the old theatre’s car park.

The Cuckoo’s Nest has been earmarked for demolition in the new year, while it is expected that the old Tallaght Theatre building will be demolished within the next three weeks.
