Over €1million allocated for public realm works in Tallaght, Rathcoole, Clondalkin and Lucan
OVER €1 million has been allocated by South Dublin County Council to improve a wide range of public realm works in 2017. A detailed list of the works were published at the county council meeting on Monday.
Some of the larger recipients include €50,000 for landscape improvement works at Fonthill roundabout, €50,000 for phase two works at Adamstown roundabout, and €50,000 for a car park extension at Hermitage Park in Rathfarnham.
Other major works include €40,000 to re-orienate the pitch at Tymon Park beside Colaiste de hIde, €40,000 for drainage works at Butler McGee Park on St Mark’s GAA pitches.
CCTV works are scheduled to be upgraded at Corkagh Park (€30,000), at open space in Balgaddy (€25,000) and installed at St Cuthbert’s Park in Clondalkin (€30,000).
The provision of a dog run is allocated for Waterstown Park (€20,000), and another dog run is scheduled for Rathcoole Park (€15,000).
Public lighting works are scheduled for Beech Park (€30,000), and at the open space from Stonepark to Aranleigh and Longwood in Rathfarnham (€50,000).
Footpath improvements are scheduled for Coolamber to St Colmcille’s NS in Knocklyon (€20,000).
Tymon Park will see a new footpath at the astro pitch (€30,000), a new footpath is also scheduled at Greenhills Park (€50,000), and a new pathway is in the works from Tallaght Leisure Centre into Jobstown Park (€20,000).
