Parents still struggling with ‘voluntary’ contributions and fees for schools

Requests for charity support with schoolbooks costs haven’t increased in the Dublin area according to a spokesperson for Society of St Vincent de Paul,.

According to the charity, which provides help to those experiencing poverty, increasingly fewer families need their support nationally, after the free schoolbooks scheme for primary school and junior cycle students was introduced last year.
