Permission granted for 22 apartments at petrol station
By Aideen O’Flaherty
Planning permission has been granted for the development of 22 apartments on Monastery Road in Clondalkin.
The two-bedroom apartments will be housed in a flat-roofed, four-storey contemporary-style apartment building.
The former Esso petrol station is set to make way for apartments
The set-back third floor level will consist of 22 apartments with private terraces/balconies.
The submission, lodged in August, sought permission to demolish the former Esso petrol station to make way for apartments. The petrol station is comprised of a derelict forecourt canopy, a single-storey vacant retail structure and ancillary building.
Their plans provide for a communal open space, 24 car parking and bicycle parking spaces, and bin storage.
Plans for a new landscaped section to Monastery Road, including planting and a 1.5 metre high wall and railing boundary treatment, with vehicular and pedestrian entrance and piers, also form part of the application.
South Dublin County granted permission for the development last month.
