RETENTION permission has been granted for the demolition of two semi-detached cottages, at Ballymount Cottages in Clondalkin, to facilitate a site for the storage and sale of cars.

The application, submitted by Alan Sexton of AS Cars Limited, outlines plans for retention permission to demolish two semi-detached cottages.

The demolition will amalgamate the two sites and a portion of the land to the rear of the adjoining property at 484 Ballymount Cottage, by the removal of a shared boundary fence.

The submission also includes plans to change the use of the site from residential use to use for the sale and storage of cars, with five visitor car parking spaces to the front of the site.

The proposed development also includes the installation of a 38.1 sq m office facility and a 33 sq m galvanised office shed.

There are also provisions for hard surfacing across the site, which will include improvements to boundary treatments and ancillary site development works.

Planning permission has been granted for signage at the site, which includes the erection of five advertising flags, one advertising signage board above the entrance, and two advertising signs, each measuring 4.0 metres high and 2.3 metres wide, at the entrance to the property.

South Dublin County Council have included a number of conditions as part of the granting of planning permission, including the hours of operation for the development being between the hours of 9am and 6pm every weekday, and 10am and 4pm on Saturdays.
