Plans to change old bank building into apartments

A PROPOSAL for the partial demolition of the former Ulster Bank unit in Palmerstown for it to be turned into residential units has been submitted to South Dublin County Council.

Dubick Construction Limited’s plans include partial demolition works and change of use of the unit from bank to residential.

Additional storeys are to be added to provide for two three-storey apartment blocks comprising 18 apartments.

The apartments comprise one studio apartment, 11 one-bedroom units and six two-bedroom units, all housed across two blocks.

Each apartment will be provided with private amenity space in the form of a balcony/terrace space and communal open space will be provided at ground floor level centrally located within the site along the western boundary.

Two car parking spaces are proposed at surface level located to the southeast of the site and a total of 34 bicycle parking spaces are proposed to serve the development across two storage areas.

Provision of two bin storage areas and all associated site and infrastructural works, including foul and surface water drainage, landscaping, plant areas and site lighting is included.

A decision on the application is due from South Dublin County Council by May 8.

As reported in The Echo last June, the former Ulster Bank in Palmerstown went on the market with an asking price of €380k.
