Rovers aim to continue momentum in Galway
Shamrock Rovers will look to make it back-to-back league wins when they travel to Eamonn Deacy Park tonight.
It is a relatively quick turnaround for the Hoops after their 4-0 win over fellow Westerners Sligo Rovers on Friday night.
Braces from Sean Hoare and Johnny Kenny secured the victory in Tallaght, with the latter now up to 12 league goals for the season, a record high for the former Sligo Rovers man.
Jack Byrne was another impressive performer in the victory, providing three assists against the Bit O’Red but is an injury doubt for tonight.
Bradley was impressed with his side’s performance on Friday and will be hoping for a similar display against John Caulfield’s side.
“I thought we were very, very good to be honest, there was a lot of really good stuff”, Bradley said.
“It’s no coincidence we had no distractions during the week.
“We had a full week to ten days training which was good, and I think you could see that, parts of our performance on Friday were really good.”
Galway also come into tonight’s fixture on the back of a victory after their 1-0 win over Derry on Friday and are unbeaten in their last four in the league.
Looking ahead to tonight, Bradley will be well aware of his opponent’s strengths, having had to settle for a point in their last two meetings, both of which were in Tallaght.
“When you’re picking a team to play Galway, you have to respect what they’re good at and that will have an impact on what you do.
“Then add in the fact that we’ve a lot of games this month, that will also come into play when picking the team.”
“Everyone will play their part, tomorrow, next Friday and for the rest of the season. It’s about understanding that, as we go again in Derry next Friday, then the week after there are more big games.
“So, tomorrow, we pick a team to win the game in Galway but mindful that we have a heavy load coming up.”
“It will be, and we know we must be at our best tomorrow night to win.
“But momentum is huge in football, we started on Friday with a win, so the aim is to continue that tomorrow in Galway.
“We know it will be tough but that’s the aim.”
Victory for Rovers tonight will propel them up to third place, with a game in hand on Derry City who they face this coming Friday.
