Sensory fun with Santa at Tallaght Adventure World

A SENSORY Santa event will take place in Tallaght Adventure World, on December 11, from 10 am until 12.00pm.

Eileen Birchall, from Tallaght, is mother of Christopher, who has Down syndrome and is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Together with Leoin McCarney Quirke and Lynn Byrne, the three mothers recently set up a parent-led activity group for kids with sensory needs called Sensory Fun with Friends.

All abilities are welcome for the groups events.

It is €10 admission per child for the Sensory Santa event and adults go free.

Admission includes a visit with Santa, a selection box and a two-hour play in TAW play zone.

Eileen said: “The event will have a sensory/chill out area for those who need a quieter space while adjusting to their environment.

“We also plan to have sensory friendly festive songs to dance to, for those that are willing and able.”

To ensure a place on the day, you can book through pay pal.

Email sensoryfunwithfriends@gmail.com for more information or check the facebook page Sensory Fun with Friends for general information and details on future events.

“Sensory Fun with Friends would also like to thank Cllr Dermot Richardson of Tallaght Adventure World for supporting this event, and for opening the premises early to facilitate the children’s needs,” said Ms Birchall.
