Single-storey extension approved for the Hermitage Medical Clinic

A SINGLE-STOREY extension to the existing Hermitage Medical Clinic in Lucan has been approved by South Dublin County Council.

Hermitage Clinic Unlimited Company’s application for the extension states that it will provide a day-of-surgery admission unit.

The new unit will be located within the existing central courtyard and will be clad in selected stone and glazing to match the existing hospital building.

The extension will be situated within the internal courtyard area where it will sit below the roof line of the main hospital building.

The extension will only be visible internally from within the hospital building,

The application also includes the provision of an AHU (Air Handling Unit) plant enclosure of approximately 46sq.m at first floor level.

It will sit within a recessed section of the roof, behind areas of much larger plant equipment.

On March 26 last, the council decided to grant permission for the extension with a number of conditions.

These conditions include the applicant entering into a water connection agreement with Irish Water, and the payment of a financial contribution of €23, 545.44 to the council.

Prior to any works commencing on the development, the applicant must provide a drawing showing Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDs) features.
