South Dublin Chamber Awards: Impact have seen their stock rise along with the accolades
Over the past four years The South Dublin Chamber Business Awards have been celebrating the vibrant and successful business community in our county. Despite the business awards not taking place this year, South Dublin Chamber wanted to continue celebrating our local business community. Through an Echo feature, the chamber looked back over recent years, revisiting previous awards and recognising the many businesses that were winners.

TWO-TIME former winner at the awards (Best Sales/Marketing Campaign 2017 and International Trade at the inaugural awards 2016) - Tallaght based business Impact Ireland Metals Ltd have seen their stock rise along with the accolades.
Based in Cookstown, Impact are a world leading multi-metal distributor of materials, whose awards have coincided with their evolution.

“We have been in Cookstown forever but over the years developed bases in Cork, Northern Ireland through expansion and the last few years into the international market,” said Peter Nicholson, Impact Metals Ireland Ltd Head of Marketing.
“We have developed a whole new division in the last couple of years, engineering plastics.
The business was always metal, but the likes of the awards, got them to focus on the marketing side. What else will clients buy.
The engineering plastics is a whole new area, but what they found is it also opened new markets.”
Last year, Impact Ireland Metals Ltd were appointed as an exclusive distributor to the medical device market in the Republic of Ireland and the UK for Boston Centerless, a premier supplier of precision ground alloys and services to the medical device industry.
Impact are also looking at potential links with Formula One companies.
“They have gone from selling steel, to refined metal and engineering plastics,” said Nicholson, who is also Vice-president at South Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
“Only this year they opened a new facility in Cookstown, a premises beside them, for engineering plastics.
“For F1 the process of grinding metals makes it ultra smoother, different temperatures are involved.”
Covid-19 cancelled expos which Impact would usually be at but the company designed a virtual expo stand for clients.
“A HTML email to companies which said we are sending our expo stand to you, so they could visit it and have a look around. It is about finding different ways to do things,” said Nicholson.
“The company is going from strength to strength. If you stop swimming you sink.
You have to keep working hard. We are disappointed there isn’t awards this year, but very happy with the way things are going for the company. Chairman Don Clarke is a big believer in Tallaght and likes to support local and employ local.”
