
South Dublin students set for Mullingar entrepreneurship final

The Local Enterprise Office South Dublin will host secondary students from all across the County at the Students Enterprise Programme County Finals on Thursday 13th March 2025 in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght.
The winning teenage entrepreneurs from this competition will represent South Dublin at this year’s Student Enterprise Programme National Finals at the Mullingar Park Hotel, Co. Westmeath on Thursday 8th May 2025.
The enterprise education initiative, funded by the Government of Ireland through Enterprise Ireland and delivered by the 31 Local Enterprise Offices in local authorities throughout the country, saw over 28,000 students from just under 500 secondary schools across the country take part in 2023 / 2024. The programme supports students to create, design and market their own business, all with the hope of reaching the National Finals.
Prizes will be awarded for Innovation, Social Media, Sales and Marketing, Best Display, Endeavour, Enterprising School of the Year, Enterprising Teacher of the Year, as well as Overall Winners and Runners-Up in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Categories.
The winners of this year’s Junior Category, Intermediate Category, and Senior Category in the County Finals will be competing against hundreds of other student entrepreneurs from all over Ireland at the Student Enterprise Programme National Finals, taking place at the Mullingar Park Hotel, Co. Westmeath on Thursday 8th May 2025.
Last year in the Junior Category, the students from Scoil Mochua, Clondalkin, represented South Dublin at the National Finals with their business project SM Smelts.
In the Intermediate Category, the students from Loreto High School Beaufort represented South Dublin at the National Finals with their business project Blobs with Jobs.
In the Senior Category of the competition, South Dublin was represented by the students from Greenhills Community College with their business project AI Study Buddy.
Since the Student Enterprise Programme began in 2003, over 350,000 students have taken part, learning key skills on how to create a business idea, start a business and grow a business. The Student Enterprise Programme also has new range of online resources for 2023 / 2024 at www.StudentEnterprise.ie, which will feature regular blogs and houses a full range of Student Enterprise resources for students and teachers.
