Sports Team 2025

Active South Dublin Sports Awards 2025. 

All monthly sports teams are in the running for Sports Star of the Year award.

The Active South Dublin Sports Awards are run in association with The Echo and with support from SDCC and the Plaza Hotel.

January Sports Team

Eanna U18 basketball team

ÉANNA lifted the U18 Men’s Billy Coffey National Cup following a 92-72 win over Titans at the National Basketball Arena.

February Sports Team

Clondalkin Rugby Club

CLONDALKIN Rugby Club senior men’s team had plenty to shout about when they claimed the Leinster League Division Two A title.

March Sports Team

Glenanne hockey

GLENANNE men’s firsts hockey team had plenty to shout about when they claimed the Neville Davin Cup. The Tallaght side secured the title when they brushed aside the challenge of Bray 3-1 in a well-contested game.

April Sports Team

Loreto Women’s Hockey

THE Women’s EYHL Hockey League trophy was secured by Loreto following another superb season. The Rathfarnham side secured the title for the second year running in what was a brilliant campaign by the side.

May Sports Team

Kilnamanagh U15s

KILNAMANAGH U15 girls team claimed the SFAI All-Ireland title for the very first time. The Tallaght side put together a fine team display as they overcame the challenge of Peamount United 2-1 in Jackson Park.

June Sports Team

Lucan Sarsfields minor ladies football

LUCAN Sarsfields minor ladies football team secured the Division One league title for the first time. It’s the first time that the 12th Lock side have won the top division in their 35 years existence playing ladies football with the destination of the title going right down to the last game.

July Sports Team

Ballyboden St Enda’s senior footballers

BALLYBODEN St Enda’s senior footballers had plenty to cheer about when they clinched the Adult Football Division One League crown for the fifth time. The Firhouse Road side secured the top league title when they overcame Ballymun Kickhams 2-19 to 0-22 in the title decider.

August Sports Team

St Francis Women’s Senior Soccer Team

St Francis FC won the FAI Amateur Shield after a fantastic win over Cabinteely in the final.

September Sports Team

Shamrock Rovers U14s

Shamrock Rovers U14’s side had an excellent month in September lifting the Eddie Wallace Cup. The win is the culmination of years of work which has seen the side develop into one of the most dominant underage teams in the country.

October Sports Team

Commercials senior hurlers

COMMERCIALS Intermediate Hurlers have had huge amounts of recent success. The pinnacle of which being towards the end of October saw them emerge victorious in the Premier Intermediate County Championship.
