
Tallaght fighters crowd the podium in Enfield
TALLAGHT Martial Arts carded some impressive results in the Combat Open in Enfield on Sunday.
Jodie Browne emerged victorious from the Advance Girls Under 15 division, runner-up in light contact and third in the Under 17 Years Points Fighting and Junior Grand Champion.
There were first place finishes also for Dylan McClelland (Intermediate Under 11 Points Fighting), Nathan Clarke (Under 8 Tall Boys Points Fighting), Sam O’Toole (Under 8 Small Boys), Zara Jones (Under 13 Advance PF), Naoise Colvin (Under 13 Tall Girls PF) and Leo Goulding (Under 9 Y PF).
Eadaion McCrave was runner-up in the Under 15 Advance Points Fighting and Light Contact while Louis McGlinchey picked up a bronze medal in traditional kata as did Cian Colvin in the Under 11 Intermediate Points Fighting section.
Isabel McCaughey finished second in the Under 7 PF with Ellen McCaughey following suit in the Under 11 equivalent.
Leá Farrell also enjoyed a fine outing, finishing up second in the Junior Grand Champion contest and third in the Under 17 PF before Anna White and Shauna Fitzpatrick took second in the Under 9 and Under 13 Intermediate Points Fighting divisions respectively.
Sean McCaughey and Kate-Ann Butler Quinn were unlucky not to make it on to the podium narrowly losing out in the quarter finals of their respective classes.
Next up for Tallaght Martial Arts is the Hungarian Open in Budapest which will see a 20-strong squad travelling to the three-day event.
