Thugs blamed for smashing Luas window with rocks
Thugs have been blamed for smashing the window of a Luas tram on the red line this evening.
The tram had just passed the Fatima at approximately 6pm stop when rocks were thrown, smashing the windows on one of the door panels.
No injuries have been reported, but passengers were evacuated from the tram a short time later.
Speaking to Echo.ie, a passenger said a loud bang could be heard before people began panicking.
“I had my back to it so I didn’t see,” said the woman, “but people started saying what it was, the tram went on or another stop or two before we were evacuated.”
Another passenger on the tram at the time said: “The little thugs were throwing rocks, it’s not the first time either, at least we are all ok.”
