Twins plan to take mindset podcast to a wider audience

TWINS from Clondalkin who launched their own podcast and a book on positive mindset last year, plan to take their show on the road to reach a wider audience.

Adam and Lee Molloy, twin brothers from Bawnogue, run a podcast called The Molloy Twins.

Launched in October 2023, they have produced over 20 episodes, joined by guests from a range of backgrounds including Olympic silver medallist Kenneth Egan, Jackie Fox, Joe McGucken, and Enya Martin.

“The aim of the podcast has been to have conversations with people who have achieved success in their careers, or have overcome significant challenges and struggles, to help share their wisdom, insights and learnings along the way, with a view of inspiring our listeners to dream big, work hard, and never give up,” said Adam.

The brothers hosted their first live event over the weekend at The Louis Fitzgerald Hotel to bring elements of the podcast to the real world, and a chance for listeners to connect in person.

“Our main aim at the moment with the podcast is to continue growing our audience and listeners, whilst making sure we keep the core values and purpose of the podcast alive in every conversation,” said Lee.

“What drove us to start the podcast was that in our own lives, we’ve both gotten so much value, motivation and inspiration from hearing people share their stories, overcoming challenges, dealing with tough times, and not giving up on their dreams along the way to success.”

Adam said a key element is to try and keep their message consistent as they continue to grow.

“A big goal for us this year is to take the podcast on the road, travel outside of Ireland and speak with interesting people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds, whilst also opening ourselves up to a wider audience,” said Adam.

Last year at the age of 24, they published a book, Better Than Before, which contains five ‘rules’ that people can use to get the most from themselves and from life.

Growing up in Bawnogue the pair went to Scoil Nano Nagle and Scoil Talbot before heading to Moyle Park College for secondary school.

They both have backgrounds in the fitness industry as personal trainers but made the decision to step away from it over the last couple of years.

“We learned so much during that time and working with clients, which definitely carries over into some of the work we do now and the conversations we have with guests on the podcast,” said Lee.

Making a podcast has its challenges but Adam believes “there’s no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

“It can get tricky at times trying to schedule guests, record and edit the episodes, and have everything run as smoothly as possible whilst also working full time outside of it.

“There’s also a lot of preparation that goes into the episodes, making sure we do our research on the guests so we can make the conversation as valuable and enjoyable as possible.

“Luckily there’s two of us to split the workload.”

Asked if they could pick a dream guest for the podcast the pair confess that is not an easy one to answer.

For Adam, a lifelong Manchester United supporter and Ronaldo fan boy, it would have to be Cristiano Ronaldo.

For Lee it would be Canadian journalist and author Malcolm Gladwell, as “he’s gotten a lot of value from his books.”
