Man (20s) hospitalised after assault in Clondalkin

GARDAI are seeking witnesses following a serious assault on a male in Clondalkin on Thursday.

Shortly after 11am, gardai and emergency services responded to an incident at St Cuthbert’s Park, where a male in his twenties had been seriously assaulted.

According to a Garda statement issued, the victim sustained multiple lacerations during the incident and was subsequently transported by ambulance to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment.

His condition is understood to be serious but stable, gardai said.

The scene was preserved for technical examination, and an incident room has been established at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

The investigation is being led by a Garda Senior Investigating Officer and, at present, no arrests have been made.

Gardai are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward.

Additionally, individuals with mobile phone, CCTV, or dashcam recordings from the area at the time are encouraged to provide this footage to investigating gardai.
