Two arrested as gardai seize over €70k of suspected cocaine
GARDAI seized over €70,000 of suspected cocaine and arrested two people during a search in Tallaght this afternoon.
According to a Garda statement issued, the search was conducted under warrant at a residence on Brookview Avenue at approximately 2.45pm on Friday, May 5, by Tallaght Drugs Unit.
A Garda spokesperson said: “During the course of the search, suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €71,890 was seized by gardai, in addition to a sum of cash.
“The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
“A female (late 40s) and male (late 30s) have been arrested as part of this investigation and they are currently being detained at separate Garda stations in Dublin under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.”
Investigations are ongoing, gardai said.
The search was conducted as part of Operation Tara.
