Unique Event In Rua Red: Spectrum aims to offer inclusive environment

WITH the launch of Spectrum, a riveting late-night event series that will redefine the boundaries of art, music, and nightlife, presented by Rua Red in partnership with SoFFt Productions and NOISE Music, a ground-breaking cultural revolution is about to take place at Rua Red in Tallaght.

The Arts Council of Ireland’s Late Night Events Pilot Programme is supporting this unique event, which is one of only 14 pilot projects funded nationwide.

As a brand-new addition to its current visual arts program, Rua Red first-ever late-night series will highlight the dynamic range of electronic music and visual arts in Ireland.

There will be three events in the series: the first on Saturday, November 18, and the second and third in March and May of 2024.

Each late-night event will feature freshly commissioned artwork by intriguing visual artists as well as a music lineup chosen by some of Ireland’s top electronic music collectives and nightlife curators.

Over the course of three nights between November and May, Spectrum will push the bounds of the gallery space and provide a unique experience that will inspire guests to reconsider what late-night entertainment can offer.

Rua Red Gallery will come alive with an exciting program from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., showcasing some of Ireland’s best local producers, performers, and selectors. with its unique experience, Spectrum aims to offer an inclusive environment for interacting with art, the community, and the dance floor.

The amazing GASH Collective is curating the first-ever Spectrum event on November 18th, which will showcase freshly commissioned artwork by the extraordinarily gifted visual artist Aisling Phelan.

GASH Collective is an Irish collective and label that supports DJing and music production by female, trans, queer, non-binary, and underrepresented individuals.

GASH aspires to highlight underrepresented musicians in Ireland’s music scene through a range of partnerships, safe space initiatives, curated events, mix series, and educational workshops.

Multidisciplinary visual artist Aisling Phelan will present her fascinating new works.

She is well-known for her work in virtual reality, live interactive technology, photography, film, and 3D animation.

Aisling examines the connection between art and technology in her work, focusing on how the digital self affects our perception of the physical self.

Her work highlights concerns about the impact of digital infrastructure on society and mental health, as well as the implications of digital reconstruction on the human form.
