Violent attack on teens during phone robbery

A GROUP of teenagers hanging out on a public green space in Lucan last weekend, were attacked by a violent gang of thugs during a mobile phone robbery.Lucan front may21
One of the victims was cut by a knife, whilst his friend received a punch from the gang, during the harrowing incident, which occurred at Beech Park on Saturday, May 16.
The Echo understands four males were involved in the robbery, and are linked to another theft of a mobile phone later that evening, at Adamstown Community College.

The four local youths are known to gardai, and have previous with regard to anti-social activity.
A parent of one of the victims in Beech Park, posted an appeal of social media for residents to be careful of a “gang of lads acting the maggot” and to “call the guards.”
He said his 14-year-old son was mugged in Beech Park, got hit and had his phone taken.
Another parent, praised the two young schoolboys for protecting girls in the group, from the gang’s violent actions.
Lucan Gardai investigating the robberies in Lucan, have interviewed one youth.
Inspector Noel Moystn, Lucan Garda Station, said: “There were two robberies in Lucan on May 16. Four youths robbed a mobile from two youths in Beech Park. One of the two was stabbed, which would be a frightening experience.
“Shortly after that, another lad was robbed at Adamstown Community College. Lucan Gardai are interviewing one youth, and know who the other three are.”
