Frequently Asked Questions:

Why should I subscribe to Echo.ie?

Subscribing to Echo.ie gives you full access to the latest in trusted local news from your community. Award-winning news not covered elsewhere. Taking out a subscription also helps to support the continuation of independent local news in your area.

Want to meet the team responsible for getting the newspaper out every Thursday?

How can I make changes or view information about my Echo subscription?

If you would like to make changes to your subscription or get details about your account (eg: invoices or payment methods) this can be done here in your Echo.ie account (when logged in).

I have a query about subscribing or my subscription, what’s the best way to get in touch with your customer support?

Our subscription team is on hand to help with any queries. Email subscriptions@echo.ie or call 01-4685350 to speak with a team member.

You can read the latest edition online, as well as older ones, here.

My subscription is having issues renewing, can you help?

The key reason for this tends to be due to insufficient funds on the card at the time of renewal. DO NOT create a new account or subscription for this, just log into your account below and put the payment through when the necessary funds are available on your card. You can avoid this happening by adding the necessary funds to the card or use an alternative payment method. If you do the latter method, double check all the card details are correct before submitting as this is the next most common issue.

For subscribers using Revolut, you may have to approve the renewal with a 2FA (two-factor authentication) code to your phone, otherwise, the payment could fail and in turn not renew your subscription.

If you’re still having an issue, try again later that day and if it fails once more then you will need to contact your card issuer for more information.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time in your Echo.ie account or by logging in here.

NB: If you cancel your subscription or if its automatically cancelled due to failed payments and you want to resubscribe in the future, the only way to reactivate it is to create a new subscription.

DO NOT update your cancelled subscription with your latest payment details to try and reactivate your old account otherwise you will get charged and your account will still remain cancelled. This is only relevant for cancelled subscriptions!

I want to change my current subscription option, what do I do?

It is essential that you go here to change your subscription. Do not create a new subscription, otherwise, you may have two different subscriptions running concurrently with both charging. If you’re unsure of anything, please contact our team directly.

You can also read more about The Echo’s new online subscription model here.

Reviews From Our Readers:

“Great local paper, makes that special effort,” – Paul Mulhern via Google Business

Subscribe for the latest in quality local news and a weekly ePaper.

NB: If you’re already a paid subscriber, log in to your account here to read subscriber-only stories! You don’t need to create an account again.

Once you create an account, you need to finish the subscription process within 23 hours otherwise it will expire. When adding your card details to purchase a subscription, you may get prompted on your phone to approve a 3D Secure authentication by your bank to finish the subscription process.

If you want to change your subscription plan, view your invoice history or change your payment method, you can make those changes here.

Make sure you approve a 3D Secure (3DS) authentication from your payment provider and have sufficient funds on your card before purchasing or renewing a subscription, otherwise, it won’t go through. Each of the subscription plans are a rolling renewal. We are not the Evening Echo in Cork.
