241 build-to-rent apartment plans for Agnelli Motors site
PLANS for the development of 241 build-to-rent apartments at the Agnelli Motors site on the Greenhills Road in Tallaght will be the subject of an upcoming pre-planning consultation.
Green Optical Limited submitted the application for the pre-planning consultation to An Bord Pleanála this month.
The two directors of Green Optical Limited are Monaco-based Siobhan Quinlan, a property investor and wife of financier Derek Quinlan; and solicitor Michael Quinlan, with an address in Castleknock.
The company was incorporated in July 2020, and its registered address is listed as 8 Parnell Square East.
Pre-planning consultations are held in advance of developers submitting planning applications for Strategic Housing Developments (SHDs).
A decision on the consultation is due by October 7.
The surrounding area is the subject of numerous large-scale developments, including the site of the former Gallahers cigarette factory on the Greenhills Road, where plans for a €110m residential development consisting of 502 apartments have been approved by An Bord Pleanála.
The former Cable and Wireless site on the corner of Airton Road and Belgard Road is set to house 328 apartments, across two apartment blocks, after developer Power Scaffolding Supplies Ltd was granted planning permission last year.
According to South Dublin County Council’s Tallaght Local Area Plan 2020-2026, the overall area of Broomhill and Greenhills is to be “predominantly business with more mixed-use residential” uses.
