PUBLIC voting for the €300k Have Your Say initiative for the Firhouse Bohernabreena electoral area has opened – with residents invited to have their say on 19 shortlisted projects by this Monday, November 25.

The participatory budgeting steering committee, which is made up of elected members and council officials, reviewed and consolidated all ideas into a shortlist, with the recommendations brought to the full council for approval.

The shortlisted projects (see list, right) includes a diverse selection of environmental, leisure and creative projects that people living in the Firhouse Bohernabreena electoral area can vote for.

The €300k Have your Say is a participatory budgeting initiative run by South Dublin County Council since 2017.

According to the council: “[The initiative] allows residents to develop project proposals for their local area and then vote on shortlisted proposals in order to select winning projects to be funded up to the value of €300,000.

“Have your say is about helping to create community-led projects that directly benefit you, your neighbours, friends and family.”

People living in the Firhouse Bohernabreena area can now vote for projects up to and including €300,000 on the council’s Have your Say website – where the 19 projects are listed along with their cost.
