65 residential units proposed for Stocking Lane development

PERMISSION is being sought for the development of a residential scheme containing 65 residential units on a site south of Stocking Lane, while outline permission is being sought for the construction of a primary and secondary school east of Ballycullen Road in Oldcourt.

Jones Investments Limited has applied for permission for the development of 51 houses, to be a mixture of four and three-bed dwellings housed in detached, semi-detached, mid-terrace and end terrace houses, and 14 apartments.

Provision has been made for 121 car parking spaces, bicycle parking, internal access roads, public and private open space, PV solar panels on roofs, waste storage facilities, boundary treatment works, signage, lighting and one ESB substation.

In the same application, the applicant is also seeking outline permission, which is when an applicant tries to ascertain whether an application for planning permission is likely to be approved by the council before incurring substantial costs, for the construction of an educational campus.

It is proposed that the educational campus will be comprised of a two-storey, 16 classroom primary school, a two-storey, 37 classroom post-primary school and a 2.67 hectare playing pitch at a site to the east of Ballycullen Road in Oldcourt.

Provision has been made for 114 car parking spaces, 660 bicycle parking stands, areas of hard and soft landscaping, the proposed extension of the footpath along Ballycullen Road and site services.

The applicant also clarified within their application that two protected structures, namely a stone cross and St Colmcille’s Well, are located in the site of the proposed educational campus, however no works are proposed to the protected structures.

A decision on the application has not yet been made by South Dublin County Council.
